Tokyo confirms 220 new cases of coronavirus

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has confirmed 220 new coronavirus cases on Friday.

The preliminary figure, reported early in the afternoon, brings the total number of confirmed infections in the capital to 23,828.

Tokyo’s daily count has exceeded 200 for the first time since last Saturday, and topped 100 for a fourth day in a row.
