Plan for Guam aims to develop sustainable solutions

Gov. Lou Leon Guerrerp and Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio will sign the G3 Action Framework Sept. 23, according to a news release. 

The plan — a 10-year strategy to develop tangible solutions to sustainability challenges and contribute to a green economy — was developed by the G3 Working Group, comprised of 80 members representing government, academia, private sector and nonprofit partners.

The group was established in September 2019 through Executive Order 2019-23 and is facilitated by the University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability.

During the 74th UN General Assembly, Guam joined as a founding member of the Local2030 Islands Network. Member islands are advancing United Nations sustainability development goals locally.

Aligned with the 17 United Nations goals, the Guam Green Growth initiative cultivates an ecosystem for transformative action to achieve a more sustainable, prosperous and equitable future for the island and region, the release stated.
