A home has been destroyed by a ferocious fireplace in a West Auckland suburb in a single day.

A number of fireplace crews and emergency companies had been referred to as to a property on Gwendoline Ave, in Te Atatū Peninsula, simply after midnight.

A northern fireplace communications spokesman stated they acquired a number of calls to the blaze – which at its top, was categorised as a second alarm fireplace.

Seven fireplace vehicles had been referred to as to the scene and the blaze was introduced beneath management at 12.38am, the spokesman stated.

No accidents had been reported and there was no hazard to neighbouring properties, he stated.
