Police are investigating a case of homicide after a preferred affiliate to
former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede was shot useless on Tuesday evening.
Sduduzo Magwaza, 42, was shot in his residence earlier than 23:00, police
spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele mentioned.
“It’s alleged that on 12 January 2021, at 22:45, the 42-year-old
sufferer was at his flat in Cornubia, Verulam when he was shot by two unknown
individuals who fled the scene on foot.

Magwaza was a key determine in Gumede’s pushback throughout her tumultuous

In July 2019, after Gumede supporters have been arrested for protesting, he
advised News24 “we will likely be again” and mentioned they’d combat for the
launch of his comrades.
On the time, he mentioned Gumede was being blamed for the woes within the Metropolis’s
administration. He felt that the blame ought to lie solely on the door of
municipal supervisor Sipho Nzuza.
