Chennai: Two passengers had been arrested when items together with 1.42 kilograms of gold with a complete price Rs 85 lakhs had been seized by the Customs division on the Chennai airport on Wednesday.
In accordance with Chennai Air Customs, the seized objects embody 1.42 kg of gold valued at Rs 72.6 lakhs. The opposite objects embody cigarettes, smartphones, laptops and liquor with a complete price of Rs 12.4 lakhs.
The products had been seized from two passengers who arrived on the Chennai Airport from Dubai by Flight 6E 8246. The 2 accused had hid gold paste in rectum which was recovered.
