Airplane lands on Interstate 57

UPDATE: MONDAY, MAY 27, 2019, 10:45 p.m.

PULASKI CO. (WSIL) — Illinois State Police inform us the aircraft that landed on I-57 was a Cesena 150.

That aircraft was occupied by two folks, and was making an attempt to land at Cairo Regional Airport when it misplaced energy. 

That aircraft was not broken.

I-57 southbound was down to at least one lane of site visitors for round 2 hours whereas crews cleared the scene.

The aircraft was towed to Cairo Regional Airport.

Officers with the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident.

PULASKI CO. (WSIL) — Crews are on the scene of a aircraft landing on Interstate 57 in Pulaski County. 

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Division tells us that single-engine aircraft, landed at mile marker 5 southbound, on I-57.

Officers don’t know the way many individuals had been on board, however they’ve advised us nobody was injured.

That aircraft’s wing is obstructing one lane of site visitors, in that space.
