The oceans are very slowly draining into the rock beneath Earth’s crust

Water from the ocean has been steadily draining away into the inside of our planet over the past 230 million years. The lack of water is equal to a fall in sea stage of at the least 50 metres and probably 130 metres.

The drainage won’t have an effect on the present rise in sea ranges, which is pushed by local weather change and finally our greenhouse gasoline emissions. The present rise is going down over centuries, whereas the pure drainage is 10,000 occasions slower.
